What is the best material to use for a crystal casket for the clear glass. Glass, or plexi, or what else? Thanks in advance

I would use Lexan. It's much more durable than Plexiglas.
I would never use glass for something like this.

Yea, Lexan is much more impact and scratch resistant than Plexiglass. Real glass would be heavy, fragile, and potentially dangerous.

I would also recommend the Lexan. As a side note, when you have it all assembled and start performing with it, I've found that a nice touch for that crucial move, is to have a piece of double-sided clear tape in the top two corners. This will do the trick! Literally!

I know how this illusion works, but I don't get what your talking about tape in the corners for...

We talking about during performance... Picture what needs to take place for the girl to appear inside the box and what items need to "relocate"...
