Mental Epic. It is a great impromtu.
My other one is sponge bunnies. It is really my favorite trick. I like to see the spectators facial expressions.

Man, I must be sleeping today (or need to sleep), cause Cups and Balls didn't even come to mind when I was thinking about one ahead effects.

Makes complete sense, and I would have to say, Ditto as well.

Time to take a nap I guess.

Most of the one ahead things I do are mental ideas.

The Benson/Thompson bowl routine. No particular reason for that other than it's my favorite close-up routine and it makes use of the principle in question.

Other than C&B I would pick a pocket trick called "Quarter Squeeze" or sometimes called "Coin Funnel".

The reason I like this (with the principle in question) in mind, is because of the inspectability.

Here is how it is described:
"Hand the coin funnel out for examination, and allow a spectator to lock a half dollar inside, separating one chamber from the other. There's no way anything can pass through the half dollar. Your spectators are sure of this. The magician then borrows four quarters from his skeptical spectators. One at a time, the borrowed coins penetrate the half dollar."

When your done, the spectator can take it apart and examine everything. This has always been a great "starter" for Close Up for me.

Chink a chink (in Al Schneider religious quietness style) with reversed T formation (the three coins go one by one towards the spectators) and some Dean Dill technique. As soon as the trick is over, people can check the silver coins to their heart's content.
Because they love sterling silver coins and were rarely in contact with "precious" coins; because they instantly get emotionally involved with (alleged) Thibetan knowledge which brought me, as a sleight of hand magician, in perspective with magic that we occidentals ignore, and because the quiet presentation doesn't look like sleight of hands but sharing an instant of real magic, where I'm not fooling them but where I just relate how I met real magic once in my life.
Magic is the art of emotionally sharing live impossible situations
