As many of you know, Greg Bordner, President of Abbott's Magic Company in Colon, was awaiting a heart transplant in Chicago. Per Hank Moorehouse, he received a call from Abbott's late yesterday afternoon that Greg had just called and said that by midnight, 9-30-08, Greg would have a new heart. Debbie called Abbott's on 10-1 in the morning, said all went well and they would try to have Greg get up even as soon as this afternoon. The first 24 hours are critical. Apparently the donor was from a 17 year old. We Michigan magicians have enjoyed Abbott's for many years and Greg has been a big supporter of us for so long. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers!

Greg and his family are in my thoughts. This reminds me that we all know people who unselfishly give by being an organ and tissue donor. Also the blood and marrow donors among us give unselfishly as well. If you are able, sign up and be a blood donor and give the gift of life. Heck go all the way and sign up to be an organ and tissue donor as well. Just as good as magic, you touch other peoples lives even though you may not know them. Thought Farmer- current blood donor. On the marrow registry and organ and tissue registry.

Best wishes to Greg and family and my prayers are with the donor family. One families sadness turned into another families happiness. Thankfully there are those out there who make the decision to help others, even in their passing.

Wow, with the heart of a 17 boy Greg should live to be over 150 years old.
Will this be the big come-back for Abbott's Magic Company? What a blessing. Steve Hart the "Motivational Magician"

Wow...Abbott's was the first magic shop I'd ever heard of...I ordered my first tricks from there 15 years ago...a few years later me and a few friends drove 12 hours just to visit the shop...greg seemed pretty confused that we'd driven so long and far just to see the shop...magic really is a very small community...that's great to hear...God bless...

The latest issue of MAGIC magazine has a short peice regarding Greg's heart transplant. I did not know that this was his second operation- his first one was stopped mid-operation for the heart being too small. So very glad all is well now for Greg apparently. This Saturday, October 31, 2008, is "Michigan Magic Day" per the Governor's proclamation in Colon. Good day this Saturday to visit the Magic Capital of The World. FAB magic there has 25% off all day, free shows, and an outside escape at 3PM. 10-31 (Houdini's death date) is also the birth day of Michigan's own popular magician MagicBob Zoerman (see http://www.ChristianMagician.org). Happy birthday MagicBob!
