I am new to C&B and I really liked the video of Andy Comic's C&B act. One thing that scares me, he is tossing those cups up into the air, that takes a lot of guts.

I want a set, I want a set, put my name down.

Hey Andy, I just hope your dvd is going to include Subtitle just like your Ball & Vase has subtitle. This would be a big bonus for me.

Let me know when they come out.

Thanks

You know these things far better than I do. It makes sense, though. I was thinking he could simply cut the top of the block down a bit and make it a tad flatter.

Andy -- what Jake said!

What happens when you cut the block down is that you run out of room for the cut off point and your mouthbead step. I cut a guide into the block for where the skirt should should end. Now if Andy's machinest has some extra tooling length then that could be done, but usually the blocks are kept to a particular size ratio to the cup to keep chatter down.

I don't have any of Andy's cups, but I've heard and seen here that there is a suction problem. It sounds like the top shoulder bead needs to come up a bit. But now if the saddle is enlarged this will change the blend of the ridge to the shoulder bead and cause additional issues.

I kind of chuckle when I see the requests for certain changes, I remember I made the same type of post as Andy with the Phoenix cups and when I made the changes that all requested, the response was it didn't look like a Phoenix cup. Be careful what you ask for, when you make changes, you end up with a completely different beast.

Can't you just use a BIG HAMMER on the saddle? Smile

It's one thing to strike a cup with a wand, almost like a jockey with his crop on a horse, but could you really hit your poor little defenseless cup with a BIG HAMMER without feeling guilt? Well maybe if it were a MM cup Smile

I have a set of the comic cups and a little larger saddle would be nice if possible

That being said, for the price they are well worth it. The cup size is good for stage or platform and if you're like me and not gentle with everything at the investment you don't cry if you drop one

Andy is good to work with (want to see what he's working on next), the cups come with fruit, a fanny pack, a wand with a gimmick, thumb tip with gimmick, some balls and interesting ideas on the DVD

The cups are large enough that I've played with having another set of cups as the final loads with lemon, kiwi and lime
