One of my favorite Mikame pieces is his coin box. This box looks great and is amazingly easy to work with...very smooth and deceptive. Plus, you get an extra un-gimmicked box in case you want to develop a routine using the spare, or switch the two and hand the un-gimmicked box out for examination.
Check it out as an alternative to your Okito.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

I perform a bizarre/mental routine with my Shiobi box. Perfection.
I also use the drawer table for my parlor/close up performances. It is an elegant prop and useful. I am working in a routine with the Heart of gold. I really like it.

Most of Makame's effects say "elegance." So I agree that they should be compatible with the style of one's show. I should think an entire show of Makame effects would win over any size audience.
I just couldn't see doing Blow Yur Stack and then pulling out a Makame Coin Castle or a Heart of Gold. Too jarring, regardless of how little clothing I was wearing. (Most of my venues won't permit me to go any further than my thong.) |

As a past resident of Japan, I can attest to the scarcity of wood, consequently the high price paid for anything made out of it from that country. No wonder the care and attention to detail found in each and every item from Mikame. BUT their general appearance is of high price and little off the common seen everyday. They look like magic effects. If that works for your style, ok. Meanwhile there will be collectors till the end of time. Content to watch them from their glass cases, while magic is performed elsewhere.

I have Heart of Gold and changed the effect slightly. The display case inspired me to do a Home Shopping or QVC theme. It looks very much like the jewelry that is sold night and day on television. I inform the crowd that they are going to determine the price of the precious golden heirloom. Rather than numbers they give me the three digits which constitute the price. Of course, I have them open the locket and the prediction is complete. I offer to sell them the Heart of Gold for the price listed.

I have a pair of Makame Chinese sticks, they rattle a bit but other than that they are excellent smooth as silk.

I have his nightclub table and use it. Gorgeous!

I don't like the lightness of the props or the wood used to construct most of them... looks like cheap wood --- and probably is, not sure... although their construction is almost flawless. I own more than 15 of their props hence my comment.

I too like the nightclub table.
light weight and does not look like a "magic" table |

It's a pity they are now making 'floating' tables such as the Losander table.
Be careful! They may be cheaper but no one makes a floating table as good as Losander.I saw these at MJM magic.
