I love Mr Cash. In fact, I just realized I have over 200 Johnny Cash songs on CD!
My top five... 5) Cocaine Blues - The Legend Vol 2. One of the many Cash songs that makes crime fun! 4) I See A Darkness - American III The darkness of this song 3) Girl From The North Country - Family and Friends Duet with Dylan. I wished they did more together 2) Hurt - America IV One of those rare covers that surpasses the original. The film clip is the only one to ever bring me to tears. 1) When The Man Comes Around - America IV I heard this over the opening credits of the new Dawn of The Dead and fell in love with it. Honorable Mentions Ring Of Fire, Walk The Line, The Highwaymen, The Mercy Seat, The Streets of Larado, Highway Patrolman, The Wanderer, Sam Hall and Satisfied Mind Worst Song Chicken In Black |

I walked Johnny Cash to his tour bus when I worked for a concert promoter, in NYC.

I once paid cash to a bus driver called Johnny. Does that count?

Top three in no particular order would be Cry Cry Cry, Hurt and Cocaine Blues

I like all of Johnny Cash's music, but the one song I searched for on cd for ages was "The One on the Right is on the Left". "Chicken in Black" is also a funny song.
I have yet to hear one of his songs that I haven't liked. Some of my eighth grade classmates teased me mercilessly (is that a word?) when they found out I liked Johnny Cash. I didn't care....even then I marched to the beat of my own drummer! Margarette

I like Don't take your guns to town, One on the right, the live recording of John Henry and one I never heard until after he passed away that is on the essentials cd called Flesh and Blood - just a moving song.
And of course the duet with Bob Dylan. |

It's funny you mentioned Johnny Cash, as I recently was given this song as a gift from a class of 7 graders who had to sing it for one of their school concerts. I would visit their class during music and join in. They obviously didn't sing it as well as Johnny Cash, but it made them all fans and they were really enjoying the Yippiii I Aye chorus. |

Yay! Somebody mentioned "Chicken in Black!" Man had a warped sense of humor.
I haven't heard anything of his I didn't like. Anybody else hear his original song called "Thunderball"? I have to wonder if he recorded it as a test for the Bond film... it wouldn't have worked since it sounds like the opening to a Western, but it was interesting.

My daughters always like the Cadillac song, "One Piece at a Time".
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
