Why not send them an email and ask them? If they want to make a sale, they'll respond.

Hansel,
My father has several of these and I checked, a tennis ball does fit with about 1/4" of play. I did notice that if the ball is loaded too far into the cup it does wedge a bit. I noticed the top of the cup does not have a recess spun into it and might make it difficult to rest the ball there after the production. Epiphany Jean |

Thanks for asking about this. I had an error in my database. It listed this type of cup as taking a lacrosse ball. It definitely will take a tennis ball.

All true - HOWEVER - I bought two of these at the same time in copper and one of them holds a tennis ball fine and the other one has a slightly deeper roll at the mouth which shortens the inside depth of the cup and thus does NOT hold the same tennis ball....

I use an Ickle Pickle Widemouth Chop Cup - it holds a tennis ball with room to spare. The ball won't get wedged, either.

Cups that are wedge proof like Alan mentions are of course, the IP Widemouth, Tim Star Chop cup, Don Alan Full Size. All are very affordable cups and have a recess on the saddle, which IMHO adds to the functionality of the cup.
