Hello,
I know some members here are knowledgeable in this area... Can you point me in the right direction as far as learning to care for ducks or if the are even "pet-worthy"... |

Ducks are very messy birds. I have three of them and they all take their turn in my shows. Ducks should be kept in pairs or small groups. I have three drakes and they get along fine. I feed them a protein poultry feed and they love it. I keep mine in a shed in my yard. I let them out periodically for some swimming in a kiddie pool. They love this and it allows them to bathe themselves. I use white call ducks and the one in my picture is full grown. They are the right size for duck bucket, where do ducks go and other live stock illusions. I transport them to my shows in a animal carrier. I sometimes find it necessary to take them into a bathroom before the show and rinse them off a little if they made a mess on the way to the show. The question of pet worthiness is a hard one. I believe they do require a lot of work and maint. but for me they are a hit at every show and I get calls for shows asking if I am the magician with the ducks! The audience loves them and So do I! They may not lay golden eggs but they are a money maker for me! Good Luck!
