There is still 2 days left to save £10 on the registration for South Tyneside International Magic Festival 2009 (13th to 15th March 2009)
You can download an application form at the main sponsors website here http://www.magicbox.uk.com/shop.php/magi......_15.html We are up to 65% capacity at the moment with 14 registrations in the last 2 days – don’t leave it too late....we have a cut-off point and turned people away for this year’s! We have David Williamson, Banachek, Bob Sheets and Steve Axtells first ever UK show and lecture (he is being represented at the Southern Magic Convention and is dealing at Blackpool but isn't performing or lecturing at either of those) PLUS two other UK virgins...see below We also have from the UK Russ Stevens, Paul Dabek, John Archer, Tim Vine, Jaspar, Stepehn Williams PLUS a VERY special add-on the day before the convention - details to follow Unfortunately Rick Maue has had to withdraw from his appearance – see excerpt from his email below “With the increasing combination of heart and neurological problems I was convinced (by those that are much smarter than me) that it would not be wise for me to travel outside the country” On a positive note he is sending along a brief video presentation which will include a performance piece (that he will also teach), and a personal apology for him not being able to be there We wish Rick all the best wishes This is a bit of a disappointment to me and to all those wanting to see Rick so I have replaced Rick with not one but two performers – BOTH being seen for the first time!! Firstly Patrick G Redford He’s best known in the mentalism/magic community as Patrick Redford. His forte is mentalism based magic. He’s published various projects over the past five years that include the highly acclaimed “Triangle” a mentalism publication that focused on making the audience the mind readers and presented itself in comic book format. He’s also had the privilege to have been a featured lecturer at Danny Archer’s Mindvention in Las Vegas in 2007. The lecture itself features some of his best work sampled from the large body of work listed below. There’s a hands off version of Any Card @ Any Number that will fool you There’s a sure-fire method to make anyone forget virtually anything. There’s a chair prediction that’s incredibly direct and clean. And Much More But the focus isn’t just on the effects, no. The focus is on the creation, the whys and hows, and the small presentational touches that make these things so *** powerful. Rick Maue observes, “It (the lecture) is a journey from creation to performance - with several significant stops in between” Banachek said: “Patrick is a real worker, he makes a living at this. As a result he knows all the subtleties one says and does and how very important each piece of verbiage is. He understands that the wrong word can signal things we do not want a spectator to even think about.” Alain Nu said about Triangle: “Triangle is truly a work of art.” Paolo Cavali said about Mendacity: “This booklet is packed with great ideas and tips.” Here are just some of the titles you may or may not be familiar with: Triangle - Printed in Comic Book Format Glemme - A book dedicated to the effect of Forgetting Prevaricator - The Ultimate Ring of Truth Mendacity Consecution Diapason Transpose - The Mindvention lecture Ensconced Fundament - A Chair Test Patricks ideas & routines have also appeared packaged with Christopher Taylor’s - “T-3? Device Christopher Taylor’s - Real Ghost Josh Zandman’s - Back to the Future You can view a wide collection of performance videos at: http://www.mindtapped.com/tv.html and short clips at: http://www.mindtapped.com/tv-clips.html Secondly – Paul Romhany Originally from New Zealand, Paul Romhany combines his skill and artistry as a magician with his natural comic ability to bring to the stage a highly entertaining and hilarious show that is filled with original magic and illusion. In 2004 Paul was awarded the People’s Choice Award from PCAM for his innovative performance as Charlie Chaplin. His ability to take a room full of people and turn them in to an audience, and then to elevate that audience to an extremely high level of fun and laughter is what keep this act in such high demand in the corporate market and on cruise ships throughout the world, with performances in over 54 countries and 17 national television appearance. To see Paul Romhany on stage is to witness a magical transformation. While his skills and artistry as an illusionist are unsurpassed, Paul takes his performance to another dimension when he applies makeup as the audience watches, suddenly leaving behind Paul Romhany and becoming Charlie Chaplin. Like a silent movie come to life, Paul brings the visual comedy of Charlie Chaplin back to life in this International Award Winning Magic Act, considered to be one of the most entertaining and original acts in magic today. His ability to communicate without words, to take a room full of people and turn them in to an audience, and then to elevate that audience to an extremely high level of fun and laughter is what keeps this act in such high demand throughout the world. You may know Paul from some of his 40 marketed routines and effects |

You are in for a treat! Patrick is one creative young man (I have shoes older than him), and he knows how to get his ideas across. Cheers.
