Well, they are dead now.
According to news reports, Amrozi, the so called Smiling Assassin, who laughed and smiled broadly all through his court appearances, celebrating the deaths of over 200 people, was not as amused by his own imminent death. I know it's petty and spiteful but sometimes I wish that just before oblivion, there was a little window of time where some of these people discovered their life long beliefs were fables. Destiny |

They did not suffer enough!
Our friends don't have to agree with me about everything and some that I hold very dear don't have to agree about anything, except where we are going to meet them for dinner.

They did discover their beliefs were fables as they open they eyes on the other side.
All for naught this hatred.

How endless must have seemed their passage into that good night: A moment in the executioner's hand, an Eternity in the grip of anguish. Unless the Bali monsters were sedated into blissful unconsciousness, I'm not at all convinced they didn't suffer enough. |

They, the bombers, got what they deserved. Their lawyers indicated that the bombers preferred beheadings because they were more "humane" opposed to death by firing squad.
They were executed by firing squad. The fact of the matter is that there's no shortage around the world of persons that are prepared to commit suicide to achieve a result. This is the brave new world we are living in.

As in many other areas, I am a walking paradox.
On the one hand, I do not support capital punishment. On the other hand, my favorite pulp hero was The Spider, who shot crooks with a .45 acp and then stamped their foreheads with the seal of a crimson spider ("Death to the bringers of death! Murderers will be killed and thieves robbed! The Spider bids you welcome! Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!").

The bombers were incredibly self-righteous, which just begs for them to have a vivid and public object lesson (or at least makes many people wish that would happen). Also, it was they who dragged their faith into the issue as a wrongheaded excuse for their crime. But on second thought, it might be better if the court threatened such a punishment but relented recognizing that their excuse is just a smokescreen and the rest of the world doesn't buy it. |

The brothers had their will distributed to everyone in their home village.
In it they urged their fellow believers to 'butcher all non-believers'. I'm for the pigskin. Destiny |
