Mr Rubinstein,
I took a look at the Expanded Ben Franklin shell set on Todd Lassen's site. They look quite nice, I must say, I do like the design more than the 1964 Kennedy's, plus they are shiny, which I really like. The only thing stopping me from purchasing those is that I want an unexpanded set and I have not seen a Ben Franklin unexpanded set anywhere. |

Franklin's are pretty much a special order no matter where you go.
If you're looking for "off the shelf" silver gaffs, stick with Kennedy's or Walking Liberty's... and the Magic Warehouse is probably your best bet for those. |

Well, I am defenitely getting a Dean's set. I think I will go with the Kennedy's.

I was in a coin shop about a year ago looking for soft Morgans and a few more WL's when I came across a slew of Franklins in really fine condition. I was told by the shop owner that some kid had swiped his dads mint sets and cracked em open to cash in the coins! Evidently this some how diminishes their value to collectors. I bought em all! There were quite a few in good condition and I picked those up too! I picked up a Franklin ] and now have a good working set in Franklins, WL's, 64's and clads. I have and really like a set of Barbers but no matching gaffus as well a sweet set of soft Morgans!
I'm pretty set up in the coin department but I still handle cards much more than coins. Once I swing back around to coinage I'll be rockin! |

I am having a hard time deciding myself ... I've been carrying a morgan around with me for a couple weeks now just classic palming and so forth ... When I switch to the barbers I have they seem sooooo small ... when I first got them they seemed big lol ... oh well I'll figure it all out and good luck to you finding your fit
