GT Brothers,
So I don't have to go back and read a hundred threads can you tell me what you are trying to figure out. I'm at work and don't have that much time to read what every one has said. |

That's not a great question to ask Tyler because EA's love to talk about themselves Hope I do not come off as vein I just want to share my background with you.
16 years in escapes the last 4 as an armchair EA (aka retired not doing shows). Initally trained under David Lee who was severely burned while doing an escape for a national TV show, he lost everything paying for his medical bills. After doing the "basics" for years I went into darker elements and themes incorporating both bizarre and sideshow elements and spent a few days working with Steve Santini on incorporating those ideas into my escapes. There are videos floating around of several of my escapes: Suffocation, Trial By Fire 2000, Joy Ride and Max Security there is also extremely hard to find footage of my doing a gun safe escape which was later popularized in the media by Cindini and used by Steve Santini. Santini and I came up with the method and I was just the guinea pig to make sure it could be done. There has also been an internet video of my picking 7 padlocks in under a minute that was once featured on the Handlordz website. I've had the pleasure sharing the stage with Living Illusions, Dean Gunnarson, Margarette and the Great Mario Manzini at a Cannons' Convention. I was also a one off safety person when Dean Gunnarson performed the water torture cell. I ran the Escape Artist Reference Library and internet Escape Store at http://www.ealib.org. Have written 4 manuscripts related to escapes: Your Fly is Down : The X-treem "Exposes" His Tricks Of The Escape Artist Trade Correlation (If you can pick your nose you can pick a pair of handcuffs) LOST The Houdini Crypto-Cipher I've released one lecture DVD called Empty Assylum. I am a long time member of Escape Masters and have had articles published in their magazine (anyone interested in joining please contact me). Currently I am a Contributing Editor for the magazines LuLu Hurst Society. I still putter around with escapes and consult / lend an ear for various EA's I've met over the years.

Its seems as if ea seem to not be not involved in other area of magic...do you find this true ... as I am very much involved in other areas... I only wish I had the resources of talking with other magicians and pro about things... the only magic shop near me is about an hour away and is not really for the working magician more like a toy store although they carry lots of magic....ill stop my rambling and sum it up that it must be great to be able to work alng side of them..by them I mean pro ea that have been in it a while

I started in magic and still do tricks from time to time and my parents are clowns who do a lot of magic. I went the EA route because another magician who cut his teeth at the same time I did became very nasty claiming our town was not big enough for two and I quote: "Magicians with Doves and Rabitts."
It was leaked at my work about being an EA (not by myself but an internet surfer) I don't want to carry around escapes but get asked to do stuff. I have a little packet trick and some garbage zip ties (for a thumb tie escape) on me at all times. At my desk I keep my animal trap and a blockhead nail. At most I've studied at least the phylosophy of each magical art and at least learned something both as a respect for what they do and maybe future use. Since I do not perform anymore it has really given me a chance to study my love since childhood the sideshow. I've used elements in the past but am now spending a lot more time learning the actual history. We have 3 magic shops in WI two an hour away and one 45min. Last time I was at one was around 2004 or 5 whenever Houdini Days was.

I was not questioning what anyone said, I was just confused and wanted to make sure I understood correctly.

And another thing: actually picking real locks underwater is an invitation to disaster; if you lose time having to reset for repeated attempts, break a pick or drop one into the abyss, out of reach, the drowning begins. But, as the late Aleister Crowley said, "Do as thou wilt."

IM USING A GAFT JACKET....... but not a paper one either way its entertaining and much safer then using a real one.... It like your saying use the paper one or your following ur ego which has killed others...
I practice picking locks with scuba gear on... I don't perform it... my underwater escapes that I perform require no lock picking but its something I enjy doing underwater as I feel not many people actually ever practice this...its a hoby persay |

All in all, I'm sensing head games at this point, so I'm done. Have fun.

Good luck with it. I currently hold the World Record for the escape under water with 29 seconds. Anyone can do it with a gaffed jacket, GEEZ! When I did it in 2006, I used a regulation jacket (Posey) with the crotch strap. I think you will find that the jacket won't stick to you like you think it will while in the water...It's when you're out of the water that it will stick to you like skin (when wet). Funny, you say you've been in contact with others who have performed this, while I haven't heard of you, and I hold a record for the escape. Hmm.
