In case you did not see it, I wanted to post a link to Whit Haydn's teleportation device routine. As newbies, we sometimes tend to get caught up in the latest, flashiest gimmicks and forget what magic is all about - entertainment.
Whit takes two relatively simple parlor tricks, and turns it into a 20 minute routine that is absolutely riveting.
If you can pull it off in a biker bar without being violated by a corn dog, more power to you.
