I came across some clear plastic Bikes and wondered if they have any real use (as implements for magic, I mean)
? They look neat, but I imagine they would be difficult to use. Does anyone know of any effects with these cards? Thanks. Gill

Someone on here did a video of Mercury Aces with them and it looked pretty good.

Riffle shuffle them a few times and the static build up will clean the lint off your close up pad.

I think clear bikes are great to make it look like you are floating down the road....while really rising a "clear bicycle".
They are also useful for underwater magic while scuba diving. :) PS: I personally hate the feel of any plastic cards.

This was once brought up a long time ago, lol, but it's again relevant.
Here's a use for them. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p92oQX00IY0 |

I liked the video clip ...VERY nice...
But, I still hate the cards.... Hard to handle, confusing to the eyes (too busy), etc....But, I did like the idea....I just think that performing the same effect with normal playing cards is more relaxing on the eyes. Hence, easier for your audience. That is just my 2 cents.

I came up with something the other night with these-
A spectator freely chooses a card as a target card(let say it's the 3 of clubs). You have them sign the back of the card with a dry erase marker & you put it off to the side. You then shuffle & cut the cards & produce 2 of the mates to the target card that was selected & set them face down next to the target card, on the third try you produce a joker. Since the joker is wild, it can be anything you want it to be. You then set that card down next to the 3 other cards & snap your fingers, you turn over the 3 cards & they are all aces, you have the spectator turn over the target card with their signature on it & it is an ace also. I did this the other night, my fiancee & niece freaked out. Mike |

Twisting the Aces looks pretty cool with clear Bikes! I agree though that for the most part they're pretty useless! Mike, your idea cool and has my brain churning so I may find a use after all!

I do not see what the point is... I think these would lend an air of suspicion to the process... I try to avoid special decks in performance situations.. I prefer regular bikes.. If you use this deck there will those who will think they are trick cards...

We do not do Magic... We create illusions, confusions, do sleight of hand, tricks and sometimes downright cheat... But sometimes if we do all this well people see Magic.. |

Ah, maybe the title of the video will help..."Mercury Rising." (Aces)
The clear cards are neat, but I've never tried them. DL is much easier with them cuz they are thinner yet stiffer. |

I searched 'Mercury Rising' but didn't come up with anything.

On January 2nd, Todsky posted the following serious note to express his thwarted attempt to secure much sought after information on the internet...
"...I searched 'Mercury Rising' but didn't come up with anything." Hmmm... In a genuine effort to provide an alternate solution that might garner better results for his fellow Magic Café member, Jonathan posted the following suggestion... -Quote: "...You need a new telescope Todd. I am sure you will be able to see Mercury rising as well as many of the other planets moving about." -End Quote. In the meantime, I want to wish you and ChXXtaXXe a very happy and healthy new year in 2009... a year to surpass all others!! :bubbly: Jonathan
