I recently read in Bobo's the effect "Gababout coins" and thought it was really interesting. Are there any other versions of this in print or on video anywhere? I am interested in learning some different ways and seeing what is already out there to work with so I can create my own.

Hey Mark,
There are a few versions out there. I listed some below that I could think of off the top of my head. -Gadabout You (Coinapalooza-Shellshocked by Kainoa Harbottle) -Gadabout You Too (Same as above) -Fingertip Coins to Pocket (Coin Man Walking DVD by Dan Watkins) -Ron Bauer's Private Studies-Gadabout Coins -Mike Feldman had a video of his routine on youtube a while back. I believe it was called "MMM Pi" if memory serves. I don't believe his routine is published tho. Those are the only ones I could think of at the moment. I'd really suggest checking out Kainoa's routine. All the routines listed above are great but his is one of my favorites. Good luck in the search. -Bill |

Dan Watkins has a version he calls "Sticky Coins", Ron Bauer has a booklet dedicated to the effect [including a full script.] Kainoa Harbottle has two versions in his "Shellshocked" book. I'm sure there must be a ton of variants out there... it's a popular trick!

Rannie beat me to my recommendation! Of the others mentioned, I am partial to Watkins Sticky Coins since it was my first deterrence from the orig.!

How does this sound to you - you start off by showing two palm up empty hands. You produce three coins from the air, one at a time. Without the hands ever touching, they cleanly and magically travelone at a time from the right hand to the left. Then, you put a coin away, it comes back to join the other two. You put two coins away, they come back to rejoin the third. You put all three coins unmistakeably away, the hand is empty, yet they come back. Close your hand around them into a fist, and then open it and spill out 8-10 coins as a climax. No gaffs. Just cool sleight of hand, and stealth palm. It will be out on the next New York Coin Magic Seminar DVD set, along with another gadabout coins effect from Mike Gallo, and a bunch of other cool stuff. Coming soon!

Hmm. Everything sounds pretty good. Mike, Isn't there something else similar to that effect in Bobo's where you palm 40 coins? I will check out all of what was mentioned above. Maybe a quick youtube search or two. Thanks everybody. I am also very interested in Kainoa's work since it is challenging and I love a nice challenge or two. I'l take a look on google.

Mark, you won't find anything quite like this anywhere. Except from the stealth palm notes, which are no longer available. The new DVD set will be out in about three months, I am guessing.

I have a coin routine in my book "As the Crow Flies" which is based on the gadabout coins. It was my opener for years.
