Once did research into the Gay Bar murder at Roanoake. Apparently a straight guy with the surname Gay took offence to the 'new' meaning of the word, and bang!
Why did I research this? Well our family surname used to be the same, but instead of going into Manchester's gay community in England and popping someone off I faced reality and legally amended the name a number of years ago. Am I correct in remembering that there were some old steam locos also left in Roanoake? Tony. |

I think I remeber some thing about that. You added that "a" to Roanoke that does not need to be there as well.

Hey, this is a really old post so no one's probably checking it anymore. But anywho... I grew up in New Castle as well (and in a county that has a total population of less than 5,000 I'm sure we know each other.) I'm living in Lynchburg now. Send me a message if you're still around.

Yes, it's old.
I lived in Lynchburg. Went to school there. So did Whit Hayden. We went to different schools, and in different decades, but that still means I've got something in common with Whit. |
