Look for an old (1930s) book, "Water Wizardry" by Will Ayling, I believe.

Any ideas where I can get this? What effects are in there?

I am not familiar with that book, but in The Wizards' Journal #5 on my site you'll find the "Inexhaustible Coconut Revisited" which is about as wet as they come. If you want a dangerous LOOKING underwater escape, try Jim Gerrish's "Water Coffin Illusion" in The Wizards' Journal #9 on my site. There is also a nice trick where you make a live goldfish appear inside a sealed bottle of spring water and some other Party Cup Wet Tricks in "Party Cup Magic" in the Dollar Store Magic section of my site.

DC and others have done levitations where water fountains "suspend" the assistant. Owens has a water "impaling".

A few parlor effects:
1. Absorbing News 2. Bamboo Water Glass & Chest 3. Water into wine or other color changes 4. Any penetration into a water bottle
The magic is not in our sleights and illusions, but instead in our ability to bring love and joy.

A great resource on all things water is Sam Sharpe's "Conjurers Hydrolic Secrets."
The other 3 in the "secrets" series are mechanical, optical, and psychological. I'm pretty sure dennymagic.com has these if you are interested. |

The Chin Lee Water Suspension is an oldie, but is very effective. It should be available from most major dealers.
