Hi everyone!
I don't own the Tarbell course, and I know there are enough reasons to want to anyway, but I'd love to get your opinions on the mental material within it. I see references to it quite often. I hear it has good blindfold stuff. Thanks again for the help I know I will get. I love this forum. /bamba |

I myself do not own all of them, I picked up vol 1 at my local used book shop (which has a rather nice magic section) and I like the book. I have since picked up vol 4, which is good as well.
Tarbell's course has real value (besides the tricks), is the foundation and reference points it gives you. How many times do you see a posting say, "Tarbell's book X has what you are looking for or Tarbell's book X has move which can be used to do X." The books serve as a reference point and a place to think about new ideas and concepts based on old ones. Someday, I will own the whole lot, as they come into the used book store, I will pick them up. There is much one can learn from them. Just my two pennies worth on the subject. Kevin |

Yes, worth having. I think Vernon's magazine test is in Vol.5. Lots of gaffed envelopes etc.
There are of course, 8 volumes. Paul. |

Thanks.
But is this material that would be new to someone who already has Annemann, Corinda and Waters? /bamba |

bamba,
As you may already know You can make anything old look like its the latest thing. I've revised certain things from the Tarbell. I've fried some magician friends of mine with it. When they ask me where I got it..they can't believe it when I tell them it came from Tarbell. IMHO, it is a must, and a thing of luxury to own the tarbell books. They always come in handy. I highly recomend them. E-Leoni. |

I can only concur. I have only just purchased the set of 8 books but already I have found enough of interest to the mentalist in me to make it worth the purchase.
Buy them all and love them! Andrew |

Get it.Nothing against it except the cost and the bulk.
When I started out, with various books and buying 'tricks'...I was told to buy Tarbell . It gives you a basic grounding of magic,a decent amount of mentalism from which you can improvise. |
