I'm trying to figure out the device used in this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qsh7W3PYytU I'm not sure if its a Funken Ring or something like Jim Pace's Ignitor and a bit of flash cotton... it seems like the flash is bigger than your normal Funken Ring effect, sounds like the unwinding of the Funken, but with a bigger flash.... any thoughts??

Looks like a finger tip flash pot of some kind with a flint ignitor or maybe a sparkle additive has been added to the flashpaper and its electronic.

Andrew Its what is added to flashpaper and gives off sparks when the stuffs ignited. There are many flashpots on the market.

Ive been debating on which ones to buy.. I'm trying to find something that is easy to hide after the flash, I cant find good reviews on most hand/finger flashers.. been searching around about 3 days.. trying to stay under 40 bucks.. would love Jim's Ignitor but for 80 bucks its a little steep for my pockets

I personally prefer the flint type, because for me they are more reliable than the elctronic versions and smaller too. I think the one I use most is under 20 dollars. The one thing I did was to cut off the ring where your finger slips in to hold the flash pot. That makes it easier to manipulate and ditch.
