I am currently reading Graham Hancock's book Supernatural, and I find this subject very interesting. Shamans for thousands of years would enter into a altered state of consciousness having experience with " spirit beings " or other forms of intelligence ( who knows, maybe their from a multiple dimension or reality ).
But anyways, I am very interested in having this experience. According to his book one can enter into a altered state of consciousness naturally by drumming or meditating. Others can enter this state of consciousness from drinking a brew by shamans called ayahuasca. Others use DMT to open the mind to receive from this other world. Have any of you ever tried this? Was your experience good or bad? Have read the book? If you don't have the book you can hear Graham talk about this on youtube http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dzKp2PeXeWI&feature=related Do you have any advice for me? Rick~

My best advice to you would be to have a good grasp of this world before you start looking into other worlds...

I would add the ancient Socratic advice of having a good grasp of yourself as well. But if you really want to go there, try asking this over in the Spooky forum and you're likely to get a lot of good advice. |

The nearest I ever came to a " shamanistic " experience is the time I wrapped myself in a giant Sham-wow and fell asleep. Talk about having a 'dry dream'.

I thought you wanted stories about witch doctors, I've got those.
Do drugs like the shamans do. Oh, there is this girl named Shannon in San Jose and she just puts out this sexiness vibe that is unreal. Married guys hit on her in front of their wives, they can't help it...she is freakin' sexy as heck yet not the best looking girl. This Shaman dude I know nailed her cuz she liked weirdos. I'm sure that was an experience. Man, I miss her, she is one of only four women I've ever met that had 'it'. |
