OH, the Colonel's is a bit ostentatious...with Greek columns and all.
Here's the real treat for me today: http://tiny.cc/ezqIx Here's the background. I found this "findagrave" website this afternoon when I was googling around to find information about Bart LaRue, my father's cousin. (I guess that makes him my second cousin.) So, having found the website, I start this thread, thinking there will be some cool graves out there...and there are. But about fifteen minutes ago I get the idea to type in someone in my own family, and I type in my grandfather's name, and VOILA! Apparently my sister has known about this website for some time, and she put my grandfather in without telling any of us. Cool. My sister is cool. My grandfather looks cool. It's a cool day. I'm off to play poker. |

I just came upon wonderful news - last year, people from all over the country (and some from outside) contributed about $800 to buy a very tasteful grave marker for Schlitzie SEE IT HERE
You probably know about Schlitzie, if you don't, see WIKIPEDIA |

Any grave that has me under it is cool as far as I am concerned.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

Here is a cool one: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=100
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

I'll have to post a pic of my great uncle's grave outside of Pittsburgh. A pretty elaborate engraving, especially for '77 when he died. It includes a few things close to him, and even one weird obsession, that became a cruel family joke for years.

If we're talking national heroes, here's someone who was twice awarded the Medal of Honor, an achievement he shares with only 18 other people:
