Hello everyone!
Friday, June 19 to Sunday, June 21, 2009, will be CAMaraderie 2009 ( http://www.cam2009.org ), the national convention of the Canadian Association of Magicians. This year it will be moving from Kitchener, Ontario to just outside Montreal, Quebec, at the brand new ALT hotel and Etoile theatre ( http://www.cam2009.org/location.htm ). In order to make sure CAMaraderie 2009 is a memorable one we have been putting together a great line-up ( http://www.cam2009.org/program.htm ), including Nathan Kranzo, David Acer, Tyler Wilson, Alain Choquette, as well as award winning magicians Eric DeCamps, George Saterial, Arthur Trace, and many more! We also have special events planned for throughout the weekend, starting with an early bird event Friday morning for those who have already arrived, as well as late night lectures, skills competitions and some surprises we're not ready to give away quite yet. Of course, we will also have Close-up and Stage Competitions ( http://www.cam2009.org/contests.htm ) this year, with thousands of dollars in prizes, including a new junior category for those 18 years and younger. Remember, we must have your audition tapes by April 19, 2009, so don't wait to send them in! If you are a dealer and would like to rent a booth, you can get all the details at http://www.cam2009.org/dealers.htm. Note that those who have participated in past CAM conventions will have priority. We also have various sponsorship packages available if you would like your name and logo displayed at the convention ( http://www.cam2009.org/sponsors.htm ). We could go on, but the best way to keep up to date is to visit our site at http://www.cam2009.org where we will be posting all the information concerning the convention. See you in June! Hey Guys,
I keep hearing about how bada$$ the CAM convention is, so I'm super stoked to be a part of it this year. From the inside scoop that Grant and the other organizers have told me, this event is raring to be epic. And the fact that it's in Montreal this year is simply icing on the gateau. According to Wikipedia, Montreal is famous for being the birthplace of one of the guys who created Trivial Pursuit as well as the guy who voiced Optimus Prime. That's got to count for something, right?... Right?... RIGHT?! See ya there! Tyler Wilson |

And don't forget poutine Tyler. If you've never tasted it, that alone is worth the trip to Montreal!
In other new, I want to let everyone know that we decided to extend the deadline for entering the competitions. The prizes will be bigger and better this year, with thousands of dollars in prizes and junior and senior categories. For all the information, visit http://www.cammontreal.org/contests.htm See you in June, Grant PS We have more announcements coming, so check back here soon! |

The convention is less than 2 weeks away.
Among others, we've added Cheng Lin to our stunning array of talent. Cheng was one of the feature performers on the Paul Harris True Astonishment set, and worked both with Paul Harris and David Blaine. His magic will fry you. We have more surprises for all attendees. So if you've been on the fence about coming, what are you waiting for? See you there, the CAM Montreal team http://www.cammontreal.org |

I'll be going up early friday morning with Steve Duperre, can't wait! (Haven't been to a convention in YEARS)
Hopefully I'll meet some fellow Café members there! For the sake of clarity, the name of Steve's book is 'Magic Muscle' (not the other way around). |

I sure can't wait for next week. I'll be there first in line friday morning... well.. maybe not "first"... Thinking about it, I'll probably be red-eyed from waking up too early with my Tim Horton's XL coffee. Ah, I hate waking up before 9am

Ah yes, TimmyHos. Can't get more Canadian than that. I'm not a morning person either, which is why there will some late-night magic sessionning that I'll be running along with Tyler Wilson.
However, I WILL be up for Steve Duperre's lecture. Steve has some mind-blowing magic, so drink up and don't be late. Best, Derrick |

Just a couple of more days now!
I was speaking to Derrick and I'm PUMPED about this convention. Not only is it in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and not only is the line-up a great one, but Derrick has worked very hard to bring in people, including some not on the bill, that EXCEL at late night jamming, which most of us will agree is the best part of a convention. I fly home from San Fransisco today and have one day rest before the convention, but I will still be there bright and early for Steve's morning lecture. If is magic is anywhere near as strong as he is we'll all be in for a treat. Ben
