Didn't Martin Eisele also perform a dice matrix when he won FISM?

Yes, he did...
as far as I remember he used giant cards and dice for his routine. Stefan |

Martin Eisele's lectures notes contain one of his dice matrix routines which he also sells as a stand-alone item with dice and gaff.
In Mr. Eisele's lecture notes, David Ben is credited for having published a dice matrix in Epoptica in 1984. Also, El Duco has published a different approach to an important element needed for the dice matrix in his "Slow Motion Penetration" in Apocalypse, volume 4, no. 8 in 1981 |

.......nearly four years on.......just bought this effect. It really is a great effect and routine, believe me.....very, very clever. It takes up where the 19th century forerunner to Chink-a-Chink, using cards, left off. Yes, there are two separate gaffes involved - quite ingenious. Are the dice and cards examinable? You bet they are. Dice can be viewed and touched. All four cards can be visually inspected on both sides - within reason - but at least one of them should not be handled by spectators.
No written instructions but a short, wordless video - dvd - comes with the cards and dice. That's really all you need. Everything is clearly depicted. You'll be able to perform this trick after watching the video a couple of times. However, the handling does require some getting used to, and you really need to watch your angles on this one. Bravo to the creator! This is a splendid, extremely clever trick. Incidentally, this is not related to the 'dice matrix' effect shown on youtube - which I recently posted here on another thread. Same name but totally different. That other one is taken from the 'Poker Pot' trick created by Jack Avis and popularized and sold by Ken Brooke which, for me, is still the most ingenious version of Chink-a Chink ever invented. I haven't seen this effect; I used the search engine at Hocus Pocus but it returned no results. I also tried the direct link but it no longer points to the product. I am curious about this effect and whether it bears any resemblance to Ed Marlo's effect titled High Rise Assembly. Marlo's routine is a matrix done with dice (and cards of course) and is not gaffed in anyway. As the dice assemble, they assemble by "number." The best part besides being gimmick free? It's been in print for ages.
Marlo's version is very clean and I would love to see a demo of this. I am curious if it adds anything to an already sterloing routine. Namaste, Vlad |
