hefemexy Elite user 431 Posts	Posted: Jan 30, 2009 03:38 am 0 Hey I wanted to start this thread for anyone who is traveling to the convention and may want to carpool,find a roommate, or who is just new to the convention scene to meet and maybe have a friendly face to talk to when you get there. Like this will be my first convention that I travel to, so if I could meet ppl on here and have someone to speak with show the ropes to us newbies. Magicians helping out Magcians. I am coming from NC so if anyone is around this area or others lets chat. If anyone also would like to save some money so you could spend more money on things at the convention hey all ideas welcome I don't have a room as I just found out about this and I think there sold out. so help would be appreciated other wise I'll stay in knoxville and just drive down. The Ramada is probably sold out, but they're tons of hotels close by dirt cheap. You should be able to find something within a few hundred yards for under $50.00 a night. I used to come in on a Tuesday night with no reservation for that night and find a room with no problem. Enjoy it. This is one of my favorite conventions.

Mountain Melodies is also next door(not as nice as pigeon river inn though).There are a bunch of cheap hotels in the area.I reserved my room at the Ramada a while back but the Music Road hotel is also a convention hotel may have some openings for the Winter Carnival of Magic.I am sure you can find a hotle close buy.

I have a show about 2 hours away on Friday but should be there by 10 PM or so. Btw, I will have my act with me including a "rabbit" because I have to leave on Sunday morning for another show. I myself am planning on getting a room when I get there unless, CMMAGIC'S offer for the cabin is still avaiable.
