Just attended John Calverts lecture and show on Feb 22, 2009 in Pelham Al. This was an outstanding performance. I spoke with him after the show and to listen to his stories of the magicians of the past that he dined and socialized with is amazing. I will mention this to anyone who might not know who he is. He is 97 years of age and has his 100th birthday planned to perform at the London Paladium. If you get a chance to see him go. He loves to spend time after the show to talk.

John is unquestionably one of the best, a living legend. Anyone having a chance to attend one of his lectures or meet him should avail themselves of the opportunity.

I agree with what has been said here about John Calvert. He is unbelievable to see. I had the great fortune to help in his lecture by running his music for him during his show and lecture nine years ago in Vegas. It was something I will never forget. Calvert is a true living legend of magic.

I was fortunate enough to spend some time with him at Abbotts years ago after the show in his trailer with him and his wife. It was very interesting seeing him out of his on stage element. Ha I remember them bickering over taking some trash out. It just goes to show he is regular people. Down to earth. He genuinely love being with people and sharing his amazing life experiences. He lived and still lives a life most of us could only dream of.
THOUGHTfully,

I got to see him a few years ago, and it stands as one of the most memorable lectures I attended. At the time I was 15 or 16 and he called me up to the stage for the Slydini tissues and some "hypnosis." This past year I found a steal of a bargain when I bought his biography on eBay for $15, yes, you heard me. The seller was oblivious to what they were selling and there were few other bidders. John is a huge inspiration and truly a hero.

Amazing how keeps on going, not only maintaining the high degree of performing skill, but also staying on the road so long.
