I think what we have here is a classic misunderstanding.
One person saying one thing. Another understanding it as something else. I hope we all here make it big in our Msgic careers. Life's too short for this. I'm out of this thread. All the very very best everyone!

I am out of here too, you have NO idea just how many people have emailed and PMed me! At first I was completely on Cris's side, I wrote so. Then I get all these calls from TV producers who just like magic. Some I didn't even know, telling me the impossibilites of this case. I really don't care, I have much more important things to do (I go back to NY the 24th to talk about two Musicals they would like me for, no, not magic) Cris now keeps saying this is only what the told HIM! well this is not how it was stated, if you read all his previos posts. The reason I took umbrage was I didn't like being misled. It's like a teacher telling pupils something that was impossible, and you know it's impossible but to keep trying. I'm fine with that, but reality has got to come in. I do wish him all the luck in the world, I too built all my own props when I started as I couldn't afford any, but I made extra money helping Houdini thread all his needles for his famous Needles from mouth illusion, and of course Devant, Thurston, and Dante were drinking buddies, so I learned a lot. Blackstone showed me how to make props from the bottom of drawers in hotel rooms. I'm being flip, because I would NEVER hurt anyone directly, I try to encourge everyone. I have never been jealous of anyone or anything! I just wish everyone in magic could say the same. And from all the mail I'm still getting it seems people respect my views. So thank you for listening. The very best to Cris and his dreams, I will even go see his show when he plays Pensacola if I'm in town. Thank you all for writing! Sincerely Senor Rai

Just a question for all of you guys:
Would it be possible to have removed all the Masked moron videos on Y-tube? Have you ever tried it? Eric |

I live 2 hours from Pensacola. Looking to meet people in the near by areas and surrounding areas. Specially other fellow magicians to help each other the way it should be even though it seems not to be that way this days anymore unfortunally
I still have no friends and trying to change that as well working and trying to accomplish my dreams, goals (magic related - have a stage show, get known, etc...) If anyone reads this and cares to know me and take it from there feel free to contact me. Thanks ! I do not envy anyone and wish everyone success as well ! I am a member of S.A.M. and I.B.M. too but haven't been able to get any helping magicians benefits from those clubs though. Laters ! |

If you look carefully, He's just trying to purchase air time for what is essentially a "privately funded infomercial" ANYONE can do that. It just depends on what you're willing to spend. Yes you can pick off any national show in a local market if you're willing to pay them as much as the original show is bringing in. Television stations (local or national) are not in the business of regulating magic (as the original thread was about) but about selling air time for profit. To that end, if you went to them with pre-produced package that met certain broadcast standards and gave them enough money, they would air it. They wouldn't judge it or care how good or bad it was. They're not trying to turn around and sell it to their regular sponsers as it is fully self sponsered. If you want to raise enough money to air a what is essentially 30 minute commercial for your act, you can do it. Would it be a cost effective means of advertising? We'll have to follow Chris's journey and see!

Guys, It isn't as hard as it sounds to get a Special on a local affiliate. Years ago I did an after school special for the NBC affiliate (now ABC they switched) in Springfield, IL. They produced it and all I had to do was show up and do the magic. The response by the viewing public was so great they aired it twice. Anyway that's what my promo says LOL. They really did air it twice.

You guys from Florida, the MC for the show was Rebecca Paul a local TV personality. I think she is now the director of the Florida Lottery, or use to be. We used her in the Zig-Zag. She did a great job.
