Sad story
Here is one of the comments someone wrote about this story on the website. "“Tony Bradley earned a living as a magician and street performer who taught classes on magic and balloon animals.” Interpretation: The guy was a flake who couldn’t hold a real job and had to sponge off his wife, who probably has issues, too, as who would be with a 51 year-old magician? What a loser. Maybe he finally came to this realization and went nuts." That's what some people think of performers, read the comments there are a lot of negative, clown, magician, street perform comments. |

We knew Tony from his excellent performances in the park.
He seemed the gentlest kindest of souls. So much for 'seemed' I guess. I liked the guy a lot...shocked and sad.

It's too bad this pathetic, heart wrenching news, gives some a bad impression of magicians and street performers instead of just those who are mentally ill or lack self control. The friends and family of the deceased have my sympathy.

That's incredible and sad all at the same time. He made a living making people happy, helping them forget their problems, yet he lost the fight with his own inner demons.
Amazing, Just amazing.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

Don't you hate when that happens?

Another example of people trying to prove their "superiority" with a keyboard and lack of courage or intelligence.

More comments from the public about this event.
"I'm always leery of 50 year old men whose main job is that of a clown, magician or street performer. You always hear some weird story about them. I'd never let my kids get too close to any such entertainer." "How do you know it was "his" home?? Do you think he made enough money being a street performer to pay a morgage??" "I never trusted clowns....even as a kid I sensed something evil about them. This, and Stephen King, only confirms my suspicions." |

This is very hard to process...so much different than seeing some unknown person on the news when you actually know the person even if remotely. Tony loved magic and his ability to make the kids laugh. Such a disconnect.
He had learned that I had been to Club 33 (Disneyland) and never failed to announce to his 'tip' that (as I walked by or approached to watch his show) 'Here is a famous man! He has been to Club 33! Someday I'm going to get to go to Club 33 in Disneyland!"

People always generalize and say negative things when something like this happens, every wrestler in the world was a steroidal lunatic when Chris Benoit went nuts. I'm not worried, I know it won't affect how people react to me when they see me doing my thing on the sidewalk this summer.
It is sad that this happened. My condolences to their friends and families. -JoeJoe

People can be depressing.
They yell "Get a job!" Not realizing that you buy a business license and pay taxes on it. Ignorance is easier than having to actually look around and deal with what's happening I guess. And as for "making enough money" I knew of a blues harp player from Chicago who often made between $20-$100 an hour on the streets. His name was Junior Wells.
