Matthew W: wow that was easy Bye.... U must have it very easy and nothing to worry about. I guess when your parents can afford to buy you anything you want life is that way... then we all grow up and get responsabilities.
Like that country song called "Ninenteen Somethin' by Marc Willis". Song about that when he was a teenager had so much fun and was able to buy what he wants, then grew up, got married, and got a car payment, a mortgage, etc... I am sure many people out there know the song I am talking about. |

My parents do not by me everything I want in life. Things I want are my job to get. Every prop I own, I payed for with my own money, that I earned. Even my first trip to the magic shop was with my own money. You keep saying you are going to leave, why don't you already. You are doing nothing but stirring up trouble.

I am not stirring up trouble.... and then again I am not the only one like this. I don't want trouble.... you might look it like that but I am not.
If people actually want me to leave here they let's see if they tell me and what they have to say about it. If they want me to leave for real I will leave and then everything have the end have spoke from itself. Maybe you are the one starting trouble. After all you have posted things too as well critizing people and all that. |

Matthew W: I am sure you will be so glad if I leave !
But then again you have nothing to gain or loose by me staying here so I don't know why you are so concerned about. |

I am concerned because I offered you PLENTY of advice, and so did many others. I spoke to you in a PM, and I am sure many others did.
Rather than taking that advice, you are still looking for the information you WANT. You do not always get what you want and you need to work with what you have. I WANT an Origami and a Cube Zag, but I cannot afford them yet. What do I do? I push my other shows more, until I can afford what I want. I bought a Head Chopper and a Chair Suspension. I made an investment so I can get larger shows that will eventually pay for the big illusions I want. I KNOW I wont get there over night, so I am working with what I have. I suggest you do that, then trying to jump into something you are not ready for. See, there is more advice and help. But I am sure you won't be accepting of that, too.

I cant afford those things either and that is why trying to find out too of ways of how to advertise my shows and get more bookings. Yes can't afford an Origami or Cube Zag either at the moment.
I can get a Head Chopper and a Chair Suspension too, that I can afford. I used to have a while back a big french guillotine but sold it because it was too big to transport and a hastle and wasn't worth much. Which version of the Head Chopper and Chair Suspension ? Asking because seen many different ones out there. I also know won't get there overnight and that is why I am trying to find info and such to improve myself and all that. I guess at the end is all a big misunderstanding of ALL people here no matter what. Oh, so you already saying that I am sure I won't accept that advice and help you just gave. If you are so sure why you didn't ? And also of what you told me about that advice now, I heard that before and not only from here but other sources. |

I don't understand when making a purchase why you need to know how it is done. That is not what matters what matters is the effect. If you have seen it before and like how it looks buy it. One thing I don;t like is when you cant get a demo and you get all this hype and you buy it and it is a lot different then descirbed.
As far as purchasing it from smokey mountain magic there are other companies that carry it as well as I have seen them other places as well.
Thanks,

True and false, Chris.
True: The method does not really matter. Especially for an illusion. If you really like the effect, you will work hard to perfect the handling. With an illusion, there is more performance than technical work, which actually, is done mostly by the assistant. False: Smokey Mountain Magic is the only authorized builder of the effect. The other ones, like the one made by Snap Illusions are not made well at all. The Snap Illusions version has SQUARE tubes that are WAY too small, and it does not zag all the way. It is HUGE, too. I cannot speak about the Dominick version. Jim Sommers makes one, and a lot of people recommend his illusions. Still, it is not authorized.

I always wondered why people are concerned about the method before buying because who cares basically how did your reaction make you feek and how amazing will it be to spectators. Say for example there is a new self levitation where you can leivtate 2 feet in the air and spectators can look from all angles and underneath and its priced at $1000 its the most amazing thing you have ever seen. There is a truthful demo video and you buy it You open the package and find out it is accomplished with a rubber band and a peper clip. The people upset will be the ones who are not pros, don't know how to perform, are upset they didn't think about it first. The method doesn't matte rif everything is advertised fair and it really works. Now say for example there is no demo video and you just get a text advertisdement you open the package and the description is wayyy misleading and you find out that this has to be done in the dark and the specators need to be looking down at you and they cant look at all angles and under your feet and it can only be done for a video camera then people should be ****ed off. that's an extreme exmple but I think it conveys what I am tryiong to say.
About the builder thing O didn't know about the whole authorized thing with ths illusion. BEcause that opens up a whole other can of worms I just have seen them arround on the net and in shops , etc and thought it was such a common place illusion, I think there are plans kicking around for sale for it as well. I kind of thought it was public domain because I thought it was an older illusion. I do agree I have seen some bad versions of this illusion in a few places. I am kind of 50/50 about this effect I am not sure how much I like it. Have been trying to decide on this vs zig zag vs modern art. About the whole not authorized thing this reminds me of a discussion I have wanted to start because I heard some guys talking at the shop and havnet gotten a chance to type it up and start a topic I will link to it here when I post it. Thanks for the info dude
Thanks,

Does anyone remeber what Mr wiz origianlly wanted?!?!??!
Ok MR Wiz I posted some advice earlier you said was helpful so I am asking again what is it you want to know what specific questions do you have and I will do my best to answer them. If you want to know my credentials visit my websites. I have over 2 decades of performing, lecturing, teaching, and consulting experience. there are many others here on the Café that have even more experience than I - the point is if you ask the right questions you will get really good answers. if you ask generic or exposure questions they will end up all over the place. at this point this current post has gone way off course and become a shouting match I feel as though I am in 5th grade. lets get back on track with helping you ask away! sam
