Okay, I've not only forgotten how to perform this trick, but I can't even remember which of Martin Gardner's books I had discovered it in (borrowed the book from a public library many years ago). Spectator rolls a die three times, makes a couple mathematical calculations, informs you of resulting number, then you can tell them exactly which numbers they had rolled and in which order they had rolled them. Anyone know the name of this effect? Anyone know where I can get reacquainted with it?

It's in Mathematics, Magic and Mystery. It's the very first trick in chapter 4 (Magic With Common Objects), and is called "Guessing the Total".

There's also mention of such a trick in Mathematical Magic Show in the section on Dice (P239). I don't know if it's the same trick.

If you're talking about the first puzzle in the Dice chapter (page 259 in my copy), that is the same effect.

Ooops, yes that's the one, page 259, seems I've lost the ability to recognise numbers! That's going to be a pain.
