We were going through a "Geriant Wyn Davis" phase at the Rhodes household from watching "Forever Knight." It led to finding an old film of his that we'd seen and not recognized ("Ghost Mom") to finding and renting "Cube 2-Hypercube."
Wow. A lot of it didn't make sense and was depressing as heck! I too would like to know who those "suits" were at the end and why they took the action they did! One last question, with Geriant's character doing what it was implied he was doing throughout the end of the film, (and will someone PLEASE give him another role where he doesn't go crazy?) shouldn't he have been... well... _messier_ by the time they find him again?

Kcg5: YES! Primer is brilliant - if you liked "Cube" this is excellent!
Though you really have to watch it through like 3 or 4 times.. and after you've done that, read the wikipedia page on it and then watch it again! If you're in to the 'head baking' mind twisting sci-fi stuff.. It's great! |

I had such high hopes, and was let down.. Haven't seen "Cube Zero" yet.. |

Their utility is limited compared to traditional depictions of time travel: the machines can only transport the user backwards in time, and have unexpected side-effects on the user. Once the machine is activated, the user waits for the amount of time they wish to travel backwards. They then enter the machine, wait for the same period of time, and exit at the point the machine was originally activated. For example, if the machine is turned on at noon, and the user waits six hours until 6 p.m., then enters the machine and waits a further six hours, they will exit at the original activation point of noon. One of the characters wants to stop a killer at a party. But if he finds out about the killing and turns the machine on, he can only go back in time to when he found out about the killing, unless the machine was on (for some reason) BEFORE the killing actually happens... (which I guess is possible). I think I'll go watch "Star Wars," or "Starcrash!" (This is why intellectual SF works in print, but rarely in visual media!)

Ed yes the machine is on long before that...
It's true though, there's so much going on in the film that if you miss one crucial line, you miss a whole lot. Which is why you really need to watch it a couple of times. Now Starcrash! Never seen it, but it sounds GREAT! 3 out of 10 at IMDB.com!! |

Oh yeah, and it earns every one of those stars!
Bring a copy of "Starcrash" to a Baywatch convention for Hasselhoff's autograph and watch him twitch!

I've called a few video stores and they've never heard of it! I guess I'll hit one of the smaller "cult video" shops and see if they can find it! |
