Without even reading or clicking on that link I'd guess they're talking about "comic san serif".
That font is an abomination, has been for it's whole existence, and many people feel very strongly about that. There is a good documentary called "Helvetica" you might want to see if this interests you...

Confession time: I use that font all the time. It looks more like "natural" handwriting...the closest I can come at least.

Doug- if your handwriting looks like that font, perhaps you should type more.
There's also this font called Vivaldi... Comic Sans does have its place, but using it in a business setting is like wearing clown shoes with a business suit- unprofessional. The designer who used that font on the Broadway Marquee should be let go. Are they too lazy to design their own lettering (or at least pick something more appropriate?)
