I am seeking to purchase a coin-type dropper of high quality, to incorporate into my Miser's dream routine. Ideally, I believe I would prefer a dropper that would drop 4-6 Neilson type coins quietly (if that's possible!) into my palm, in one smooth shot.
Please adivse on the type of dropper(s) that might best uit my needs. Provide dealer links that show photo(s) of these items, if possible. Many thanks. Jonathan

I have used a "coin gondola" for the finale of my Miser's Dream routine, to create a shower of coins from my assistant's nose.
This dropper, also known as a "coin dumper," holds about 8-9 half dollars and will silently deliver them in one stack to your hand. It is made of metal, works by gravity, has one moving part, no springs or catches and is very reliable. And it holds the stack securely until needed. There are two types of these droppers. I believe the original is made by Viking Magic and sells for about $15, click HERE to view. There is also a cheap knockoff made in India by FunTime; it sells for about $5, click HERE for more info. I have never used the Viking one, but in all honesty, the FunTime one is really perfectly adequate. At that price, buy two or three and you'll always have a spare. My only modification to the dropper was to remove the safety pin and replace it with a spring bulldog clip. This way, I can clip the dropper to the front pocket of my blue jeans in about 5 seconds, yet easily remove it when I'm done. The dropper is concealed from all angles by a waiter's waist apron that I wear to make change (for my Svengali Pitch). I can make the steal right under the specs' noses, and they never see a thing. Hope this helps! SETH

Thanks for your timely suggestions and links, Seth. Very helpful. I am considering another Viking coin dropper as well --I beleive this one requires less hand movement, but holds less coins.
I invite fellow members to click on the link below and post their opinions when comparing the two items: http://www.vikingmagic.com/?nd=full&key=610 http://www.vikingmagic.com/?nd=full&key=168

I have a dumper and a clip type coin dropper. I've got a couple of old slide droppers too, but they are abysmal. They all sit in the drawer now because I bought 2 of these:
http://www.giacomobertini.net/products.htm The Babel Dropper is completely silent and gives you the coins in a most natural fashion. You can order directly from Ginjiro in Japan or ask Mr. Daisuke Seo at SEO Magic to get them for you. He got mine for me. |

Check out Mikame Miser's Dream. It's a nice one to use.

I am still surprised (and disappointed) that there seems to be no Mikame style dropper designed to be affixed to the inside of the pail yet also designed to hold dollar-sized coins.
If anyone knows of such a larger size dropper on the market, please let me (and others) know. Jonathan
