Steve ir right on! You can get some.....maybe all, I'm not sure, of Hef's creations direct from him. He has a website, or you can contact him here or by email. He travels sometimes and does not always have computer access, so be patient. Jef is a nice guy and always helpful!!!

Regan, perhaps you can help me. I've been going back and forth between Kandu's Rootin Tootin Root Beer MB's and Jolly Roger's Ridiculous Ravioli. I am a children's/family entertainer. I have never seen a vid demo for the Kandu product. Can you or anyone help me decide between these two great products? Thanks.

I'm not Reagan and don't have the Kandu bottles (I do have several of his other excellent props), but would go with the Ravioli on this one, for variety if nothing else. With Rootin' Tootin' you keep getting root beer bottles, right? With Ravioli you get many varieties of canned goods, a mouse, and snakes. I'd go with the variety, plus you can customize it with the types of canned goods that interest you or make sense in your show. I have no relationship to Jolly Roger, but have the Ravioli and the Ridiculous Routine and they are both excellent. The Ravioli puts PB and J to shame (not to mention lots of kids have allergies to peanuts and are generally not overly thrilled about even having peanut butter gags around).

Dido on Mumblemore's points I'd go with ravioli for the same reasons, but I wouldn't forget about Kandu I'd make sure to pick up knot funny(my favorite Kandu product), and any others that fit your show. I also have several Kandu items and am very happy.

Steve, I'm sorry but I cannot offer help for those items. I do not own either one. If I were doing a multiplying bottle routine I would only consider Kandu's Rootin'Tootin' Rootbeer Bottles, because like you I am also a family entertainer. I have Knot Funny, and it is a good-quality prop.
I do not have RR either, so I cannot say anything about it. It may come down to what type of routine you are looking for, and whether or not you want to use a volunteer, etc. I assume you would need help with RR, but not with Kandu's bottles. Another thought I had is that I believe Kandu makes a set of Topsey Turvey Rootin' Tootin' Bottles. If you are wanting a routine that uses a volunteer from the audience, that might work in conjunction with multiplying bottle routine. I'm just thinking out loud.....I do not own Kandu's Topsey Turvey bottles either. I know there are several that do own both the Rootin' Tootin' Multiplying bottles and Ridiculous Ravioli. I know Terry Owens uses the bottles, so you might want to contact him. He is a great guy! Sorry I could not be of more help. Good luck! Regan

Hey Guys, Kandu here.
First of all, thanks for all the nice words. Secondly, right now only the Multiplying Root Beer bottles are available from Hocus Pocus. I have a limited supply on everything else on my website. If you are working parties or small venues where you don't have a stage and a place to keep your props from being looked at after the show, I don't think the multiplying bottles are for you. The trick (my version or the martini version) has always been a stage trick. Up close even the $600 sets don't look like real bottles where the Ravioli trick (which I haven't seen) would seem to work for kid show audiences where they are up close. I hope I didn't talk you out of a purchase, I just didn't want you to buy the wrong item. Regards, Jef

As for a sale, after my next gig I'll be ordering your "comedy carton," which I think is hysterical! Hope this is an item that is readily available from your website. Thanks to others' opinions. That's the kind of help that keeps the Café strong! Steve |
