Hi all thought I would share is with you.
I've been looking for a cheaper way to have quick to play sound clips/fx than buying a sp-404 £320 so I went on the hunt and found http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts-apparel/interactive/a5bf/ which cost me about £40 with post I cut the speaker part off and added an phono plug and now I've got a 20 button fx box for £40 If you wonted you could use it as an mp3 player with up to 20 tracks ready to go( its got an play and pause button on it as well ) and if you are a close upper you could keep the speaker on it and put it in your jacket and have soom fun aka "sylvester the jester" I've just ordered the new DVD from magic dave http://www.magicroundabout.net/shop/ partytime 2 Hes uses lots of sound fx and clips so cant wait for it to come Click here to view attached image. |

I've been using one for quite some time and really enjoy it. I put my own 20 MP3's on it. I also connect it to my IPod and just use the speaker part.
I just recorded a routine where my Rolly and my T-shirt get into an argument about which one is the better dancer. The Rolly has a strong argument and appears to be winning when the T-shirt announces it just needs to shock the human. Recorded Zaps are heard and I'm dancing. In the end the shirt wins. The only way the shirt will stop shocking is if the human turns off the Rolly!! Hillarious routine can be played anywhere, anytime. No stage required. Audiences assemble themselves!! |

I have the shirt and have enjoyed playing with it. I never thought about cutting the controller out of the shirt and adding a phono plug, though. Looks like I'll be fiddling wi'd'wires tonight. Thanks for the idea, Shinester!

Great minds think alike! The t-shirt was too awkward to use, but the SFX unit is perfect! I love the built in sound effects, and haven't yet uploaded my own sounds. But it IS a funny and very useful item!

Right out of the box I enjoyed this. The drum roll, the laugh track! It's a blast to add sound FX to your actions. The batteries lasted about 3 hours for me.
The possibilities are limited only to your imagination. You could add sound FX to a prop ala "The Flea" or as mentioned Sylvester the Jester. I like the "Tick tock" track. When someone asks me a question I trigger the MP3 and start scratching my chin in deep thought. "Let's think about that". Followed by a laugh track. A bad corny joke followed by the BOO track. It's funny that this T-shirt was last years April Fools joke on ThinkGeeks website. Each April 1st, they put up joke items that are not real. There were so many people that tried to order the T-shirt, they developed one!! 2008 webpage 2009 webpage |

Ha. I was on that site 2 days ago thinking the same thing. It's such a neat idea and I've looked everywhere for something that does the same thing at the same kind of price and had decided I would do what Mr Shiney did. nice work.

Just a little something strange Ive notices make sure your sound clips are over 80kb big if not there seems to be a 1 second delay to the next clip you press? ive just added a bit of silence to the end of 2 clips to make them 100kb and now no problem.

Here are a few sound clips I use.
I think there a nice way to sort problems and get a laugh at the same time first one if a 2 year old gets to close and the next one is when anyone gets to close (starts touching things) don't use them to often but are there ready to go. if anyone got any ideas for some more clips for anthing let me know you need quicktime to hear them http://www.mrshiney.co.uk/html/soundfx.html |
