Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anybody knew where I could buy/ get plans to make a receptacle for a manipulation act. I would like one with part of a table top and a drop zone for cards, etc. Your comments are much appreciated. Thanks, Dan |

Wouldn't it be better if you already have a complete act worked first before having the table/receptacle? That way you would know what extra things you want your table to do for you and how to use the customized table effectively.

I have a cheap and easy solution that may work for you at least until you really know what you need. I can't type right now, but I'll try to post instructions and pics tonight.

So here's what I did:
I bought a black KASSETT Magazine box with lid from IKEA ($14.99 for a 2-pack.) I rotated the lid 90 degrees and sat it on top of the box, then cut two slits on one side of the lid so that it slid down snugly onto the box. See my attached crude illustration. I set the whole thing on an $8 black TV table similar to one of these from Target. Done. : ) This has worked quite well for me. Let me know if you have any questions. -Daniel Click here to view attached image. |

Here's a snap of the box that I made. (Note: that's a jumbo deck, not a really small table.)

That is very nice. I like it a lot. Inexpensive, looks good, and easily replaced if damaged.

In fact, I do! Here's a quick 1-minute practice video of some Coyne productions.
My middle name is Russell (Rusty for short) so when I get old and grizzled I may adopt the stage name, Rusty Coyne. : ) |

I recently found hard plastic top hats at Party City, that are sold as Ice Buckets.
They make grand receptacles and with a little gaffing here and there, you could show it empty at the end of the act.
