Press Release - Daniel Garcia at Sorcerers Safari Magic Camp 2009 Daniel Garcia travels all the way from Huston, Texas to the Sorcerers Safari Summer Magic Camp in Ontario, Canada. (Daniel comes for the kids, but stays for the magic; "Heck, Yeah," say Sorcerers Safari staffers.) Toronto, Ontario. - May 27th, 2009 EST - Amidst rampant magic forum speculation, Sorcerers Safari Summer Magic Camp today announced it is bringing in master magician Daniel Garcia as a special guest at Magic Camp this summer. With several best selling products and a ton of great unpublished ideas Daniel has lots to offer the kids. Daniel has already taught Greed, Pressure, the DG Projects and Ultragaff which have received international acclaim so imagine what it would be like to spend a week with him. The inspiration for asking Daniel to spend time at magic camp, recalled Wayne Houchin, Sorcerers Safari Staff, "He loves magic, and would be a perfect fit for camp and the kids," Houchin said. "And there is no better way to spend a week immersed in the art of magic than with one of your heroes. Who doesn't like Danny? He's great!" The idea of having an online personality as a special guest at camp was one of the hot debates at this year's annual executive staff meeting. (Sorcerers Safari Summer Magic Camp chooses only the best of the best to come up as special guest.) After unanimously agreeing Daniel Garcia was a perfect fit, we asked he gladly accepted. "Mr. Garcia is going to have a great time up here, and so are all the campers and staff. Imagine all of the experiences he can recount about David Blaine, Frank Price, Paul Harris, and the rest of the legends he's spent time with," said Sorcerers Safari Magic Camp founder and president, Magic Mike Segal. "This is going to be our thirteenth year in operation, and I can't remember a time when everyone was so excited about a special guest like Daniel Garcia." Segal adds, "I haven't personally met DG, but camp is one big family. Having Danny is like having a little brother come up for the week. I love it!" Last week at magic camp's open house, a handful of campers and staff had the opportunity to receive last year's camp DVDs, other camp gear, and heard about our special guest for 2009. Unlike other special guest declarations, when Daniel Garcia's name was announced the room broke into loud cheers and applause. It's going to be the best year of camp ever! According to Segal, Sorcerers Safari is growing exponentially with a high rate of return campers and return staff. With luck, Daniel Garcia will love camp so much, he too, will return repeatedly. At the Sorcerers Safari magic camp, campers learn magic while having fun, two themes that are easy to combine. We endeavor to help campers develop some new magic skills and polish old ones. Although we supply all the materials for the planned workshops, we encourage campers to bring magic items they have special interest in working on. Many of our campers return year after year...they have so much fun they just keep coming back. Campers often develop special relationships with each other, and they keep in touch by attending events that are organized or sponsored by Sorcerer Safari. Our magic camp is always located in a safe and friendly environment, far away from the distractions of everyday life. We use Camp White Pine (same camp location as in the movie Meatballs). Counselors are imaginative, committed, caring and fun to be with. All staff are 20 or older and are selected through an intensive interview and reference-checking process for their experience and ability to work with children. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our program because we know that it takes innovation, commitment, and hard work to remain the premier magic camp in Canada.
