Hi,
I have been a fan of the rising cards for over 30 years using the Arne, Martini decks. My issue rises when using Jumbo rising cards. same methods etc. I have spent a lot of money and have not had one deck live up to expectations. they work in practice but fail in performance. I bought a deck from Hocus-Pocus and it was made really bad, the special part was very uneven and very noticiable and would not effectivly cause a card to rise. I even had an issue trying to get them to back their product saying that being in Canada it would cost more to send back to them than the deck was worth, send me a new deck and I will send them back. they said no. No trust even after spending thousands at thier shop over the years. so other than the expensive set from Stevens that not knowing the method I am not willing to gamble after many losses, have a good experience with Jumbo Martini (arne) rising cards with the (w**ght)? |

Mpicard.... I am very satisfied with the deck of rising cards made by George Richbark. I am not sure if he makes a jumbo one or not - but you could contact him and ask.

I almost posted a new thread with this exact question. Glad I found this one. Great info all. I'm off to order a Martini rising card.

I've always liked Jeff McBride's Kundalini Rising ... I carry the (very small) gimmick in my wallet wherever I go, as it allows a completely impromptu performance with a borrowed deck.

Not sure if it was the ghosts of The Waldorf Hotel story, or the hype behind the trick, but it was flat for me. No buzz from the room either. I think if he did the Carbone version, it would have had a stronger impact on the entire room. |

Without a doubt, the greatest card rises(es), and possibly the greatest magic trick, I have ever seen was Dr. Hooker's 'Impossibilities' (i.e., the Hooker Card Rise), as performed by John Gaughan in 2007.
It's all in the reflexes.

Mikame makes a jumbo rising card trick. It is a deck of cards, properly gimmicked and also includes a very attractive wooden houlette to support the cards while the chosen one rises.

Is anyone familiar with this version: Dr. Schwartz's amazing Rising Card Miracle? Tannen's has one: http://www.tannens.com/shop//cart.php?m=......l&p=9682

Another vote to Henry Evans' Rising Card!!! In fact, that's not Mr. Evans creation!!! This gimmick was created by a Brazilian Magician called Varone. See you!!!

The one I use all the time. Borrowed deck, no threads, no loops, no magnets, no sleights, in a sealed zip lok bag.

I just wanted to chime in regarding my Martini Rising deck that just arrived. Very impressed. Incredible product. Works like a charm, durable and super easy. Best rising deck I've ever seen. They also included "Spider Monte" for free, which I will actually use as I work with kids often.
I was treated so nice that I may go buy some more of their products just because I'm so happy with them. If you haven't yet picked up Martini's Rising Deck you don't know what you're missing! |

In the same order I picked up a couple of custom-made rising units (Tally Ho fan back, one red one blue--he will do this if asked) and he tossed in a packet trick as a bonus. I should also add that in his first order Marty shipped priority--almost nine bucks to Canada on a twenty buck item--without any question. On the second order I asked him to save his money and use regular USPS letter mail, which is fast enough and just as reliable. Got here in a week. Great products and great stuff.
