Hi, does anyone know of a false shuffle that accomplishes a faro check? I believe I've seen references to it somewhere on here ... I just need help justifying doing a faro check in front of the spectator.

Thanks!

Weave the cards together, and offset them as you spring together (à la Joshua Jay Ribbon Spread Hideout or Guy Hollingworth False Shuffle). Then strip out.

You don't need Faro Check to devide the deck in half. Cut and place two packets side by side for Riffle Shuffle. If they are not same, adjust it. Then Do any False Riffle Shuffle like Zarrow, Strip Out, Push Thru.

I call that method of checking as 'Hight Check'.

Yes, Hideo-San's method is better if a table is available.

I use a Joker made into a breather that I place in the middle. This is the 53rd card which makes it certain that I don't even have to pay attention to the cutting: it just falls into my fingers.
Then I use Fred Robinson's technique (check Peteer Duffie's wonderful book on Fred) as it just looks more casual.

Luke Dancy and Tyler Wilson in one of their lectures taught me a false faro onto a table. I moved it into the hands and laymen will never even think twice about it. Magicians will though but who cares? Not Chris Brown.

Chris,
I missed that one: where can it be seen (book, DVD?) Can it be performed strolling as well?

I don't do it the faro way but you get the idea.

Lots of very interessting moves there. Impressive...
I particularly liked the sliding of the top card down into the middle of the spread deck that I had never seen anyone do. Do you actually use these superb moves into the frame of effects or do you simply make the cards alive as an effect in itself? Some of the moves seem very closely adapted to the Ambitious Card effect: I apologize for being ignorant about your magic but, as youcan see, I'm trying to straighten that up.
Congratulations for the great work in any case.

Yeah there are some rare ones in that clip. I use all these moves. As you can see I have a wonderful time with my ACR. I'm a move junkie and I have many books on some rare moves. The deeper I read, the more I will harness these moves and use them in effects. Pasteboard Practice 3 will be some interesting moves. Pasteboard Practice 1 and 2 are simply to document some moves that I've learned recently. I like having a video log of some of the moves I have learned over time.

There's some great stuff in that video Chris, very impressive. Looks like you've mastered the topshot - I didn't think it was possible to be that accurate!
