Yeees its a very nice book! Probably well known for most, because Mr. Blaine used the "card flicker" move in one of his specials...
:)

great book

Blaine's variation on 'Finger Flicker' in this book cuts to a named card rather than a number of cards. Also the spec does the flicking.

Can anyone tell me once I buy this book whether DB's handling will become apparent or is it less obvious? I'm not after the method, just whether DB's variation is a logical jump from the original in this book.

I think Blaine's variation in his special was editing so certainly parts of his effect will not be obvious--in my opinion.

Blaine's version is the same as the one described in "Card Fictions" but Blaine didn't do all of the phases. It's not editing. Pit Hartling describes how to flick to a spectator's chosen card, Blaine just uses a different control.

Also, Pit Hartling doesn't explain how to get a spectator to do the flick, but if you just ask a spectator to run his/her fingernail quickly up the side of the deck, it should work.
