Dr. Rubenstein is a member and posts regularly. Try PM'ing him for info on what's in it. Also try leaving a note requesting someone drop by here and leave a review. Many of the members have them and are happy with them, but I don't recall specifics. I don't have them or would comment myself. They're on my list. He is a sharp guy and has been generous with his time and thoughts here - I have his notes and book from years ago, they are excellent. Personally I would like to know how the DVD quality is since I believe they came from tapes originally.

The DVD's are reformatted from the old Videonics Master Coin Technique series, produced in Germany in 1985 and released in North America in 1986. L&L took the original masters, re-edited them, and added computer graphics and classical music. The material has been condensed from 4 tapes into three DVD's (and tapes), consisting of over 100 coin moves that are divided into sections on Concealments, Vanishes, Steals, Loads, Double Face coin moves, Han Ping Chien, Subtleties, Switches, Shuttle Passes, Click Passes, R.O.P.S. Technique, Changeover Palms, and Coin and Card Moves. Many of the moves are my own, and are still unpublished. There are also basic moves, and variations, so there is something for workers of all skill levels. The purpose of this series was to allow the performer to choose a move that fits in better with his/her own effects, and to be able to diversify within your style. Until the series was released, many of my own techniques were kept underground, shared only with the top professionals of that time. It's not up to me to review the material, but I guarantee you that you will find something in each section that will help to make your own magic look more magical. Enjoy, Michael Rubinstein

I have them and will gladly review them.
What you have here is exactly what the title states; an encyclopedic work on coin sleights. Dr. R doesn't teach a lot of tricks here--that wasn't the goal of the series. He demonstrates and teaches many, many coin sleights. That makes it more difficult to watch a DVD in its entirety as you would with a DVD that has aperformance segment and then an explanation of the performed routines. That is, however, in no way a drawback. What do you do with a regular encyclopedia? You don't pick it up and read it cover to cover. You look up the topic you are researching! That's what these DVD's are better for than anything else on the market. Looking for a way to swirch one coin for another within the context of a particular routine, but the only switch you know doesn't seem to fit? You take out the DVD with the section on switches and there ou find a number of different methods, one of which is sure to meet your needs. Want a clean vanish for a particular performing situation? There's a large section with lots of different vanishes. These DVDs are the definitive reference work for sleights. While you probably won't watch all 3 start to finish in one sitting, I guarantee you'll come back to them again and again. They are great to have when you are reading an explanation in a book and can't quite figure out the move from the text. Odds are these DVDs will have the move or at least a suitable substitute that accomplishes the same thing. Dr. R is a master technician and an excellent teacher. The camera work is good and it is easy to learn from these DVD's. If you do much magic at all with coins, you should have these DVDs!

Just pulled these out and rewatched them. I have to say, so much of the material is still underground. I don't think there has been anything put on the market after this set that has come close to teaching so many quality coin moves, from beginning to very advanced. I hope people are still looking at them to learn great coin technique, instead of just looking for the next "latest" thing.
