FISM: Why the jury never gives the 1st prize in the mentalism category?

I am a illusionist of Valladolid (Spain), I like mentalism very much. With a few colleagues we are part of the group "Mentalmania"
We would like that someone explains to us why the jury do not give the the 1st prize in mental magic category at FISM.
Since 1985 until today that the prize is not given to anyone. 24 years and 8 championships FISM have passed.
The Mental Magic category is the only one of the categories of FISM in which this happens.

If someone says that nobody has reached the level to win, that would be false since there were excellent acts and we have seen them. In addition, after 8 FISM it is necessary to understand that the level is what the contestants show, that this is the reality and the effort deserves a prize.

To compete in a category in which it is known in advance that the first prize is not going to be given, leaves the contestants without motivation

We ask:

who benefits without a winner? Affect the interests of anyone?

We have spoken to several organizations in different parts of the world (USA, England and Germany among others). Many didn't know about this fact but all agree that is something that must be reversed, and that will be very good for the transparency of FISM and magic.

All the best,

You should check your history. In 1951, the Salvins of England were awarded the first prize in Mentalism.

In 1952, Magdola & Carolus (France) won the first prize in mentalism.

In 1961, John Todd & Jill (England) won it.

In 1985 Santo & Monique (Germany) won it.

These FACTS are found at http://www.fism.org/Historic.htm . That's the official site.

Now, stop whining and practice.
