I totally forgot the name of this card trick. The ad went something like this.

Magician has two cards in his pocket, backs facing audience. Spectator is asked to mentally select a playing card from a deck of 52 and to physically select one of the cards in the spectators pocket. On the face of the physically selected card are the words pick me while the other card is the mentally selected card.

The explanation may not be exact but it went something like that.

Can anyone enlighten me on the name please?

And is this effect any good?

I know there are many people who like the idea, the handling is very clean an motivated, but still not as clean as the ad suggests. You of course need to touch the deck, and I think magicians who know the certain moves will spot them, but to laymen this will appear linke a true miracle that can be instantly repeated.

There must have been a discussion on the Café about this effect before.
