This looks interesting-
http://wizardhq.blogspot.com/2009/07/bic......s-2.html I somehow doubt the pads are of the best quality, but the cards would be nice to have for the collection. Mike |

The pads are actually pretty good. they have two layers and then the top fabric. The bottom layer is a firm neopreme substance, then a foam type pad and the top. Not bad. Nice color for cards too.

Does anyone else find this to be grossly overpriced? Normally 9 decks of Bicycle cards @ $3 a pop and two close-up pads of that size @ $10 a pop would only run you $47. But this is selling for $85 ? ! That's almost $40 too much. Not much of a deal is it? Just my opinion.

Why sell 9 decks of Bicycle cards (different colors) with two cheap (?) close-up pads? Sorry, but I don't get it.

The Murphy's description notes that the set includes two new colored decks exclusive to DiFatta: http://www.murphysmagic.com/Product.aspx?id=45035
My guess is they're trying to take advantage of the collectors who would want those new decks to add to their collections. By bundling seven relatively common/inexpensive decks and a couple of closeup pads with the new decks and making that the only way to obtain the new decks, they're able to tack on an extra $40. :/ George |

Got this set.
1 blk pad/ 1 red pad - not to shabby except for the red and blue decks, the other colored decks actually have a blank front matched to their back color. The 2 "exclusive colors" are a fushia (not pink) and a turquoise. wait for a sale like I did and it's all good escpecially if you were in the market for a new pad or just treating yourself. what the hell, life is short, bicycle decks won't dissapoint, lousy impulse magic trick purchases are. 2 cents |

Are the pips the same color as the backs? |

Are the pips the same color as the backs?
No, they are the regular colors of the black and red irrespective of the different back color, BUT magic makers' color decks are different slightly, the pips come in white and yellow for the full purple, black and green deck where the fronts are the same color as their backs. |

How about the quality of the cards? Same paper stock used for the regular blue and red backs?

Yes, same stock. you can tell. It is not thinner if that is the concern. But of course everyone's sensitivity to cards is no different than someone differentiating 2 different Merlots.
