Thought I'd come on here and add to posts about this but maybe it's so new news...nobody has had time...anyway..I HATE to be the first to post about this.
He was born in 1916...and I was just yesterday, on the 40th anniversary of the launch to the moon...was remembering his broadcast of this...even mentioned it to my wife how "Walter Cronkite made this really NICE...and extra SPECIAL!!"...and now today I read he's passed on. My first thought is...if all of us had his "professional" way of speaking and broadcasting...ALOT more of us would be pro magicians!!!...and people would've WANTED to see our magic!!! I remember him from the early days of broadcasting...anybody else remember "You Are There" from the 50's!!! It was actually a "hokey" idea...and would've been a joke...but with Walter as the main announcer...I still remember it giving me "chills"!! Wow!! Does Heaven ever have a news announcer now!!!!!!!!!! Talk about being missed. |

"And that's the way it is on this 17th day of July, 2009."
Magic is a vanishing Art.
This must not be Kansas anymore, Toto. Eschew obfuscation. |
