Considering Frank Garcia saw it, it's an old routine and having the coin in the right hand "stuck" there ( that would have been some classic palm without the special something ), it was new back then. I think Dean Dill has a routine on one of his older dvd's that uses that principle with pennies.
I like the Monaco routine. If I decide to do it, I'll play fair and buy it ( yes, after several viewings, I finally 'get it' lol ). You could, sort of, do it impromptu. Meaning, you could borrow 3 quarters and say the penny does all the magic ( take the heat off the quarters so to speak). But, the quarters would have to be all the same. That could be an issue as specs are pretty observant.

Just came across this thread and let me say firstly that, Roger is a very close personal friend of mine. I tried calling, but no answer - he's probably out getting treatment for his MS. I'll try again later. Although this is his routine, I'm not sure he knows about this "release" He hasn't said anything to my about it, and that seems odd.
For those of you commenting on not being fooled by the "demo" and that there's nothing new here... The guy in the "demo" (which it is not) is not only doing the routine poorly, he's doing it bass-ackwards. Plus, this routine has been around longer that some of you have been alive. Quick history of it is that Roger concieved it, showed Garcia who was floored by it, a bit latter, Spina was going to publish it and while Roger and Tony were going over the manuscript. Blackstone Jr. walked into Tannens and Roger showed him the routine. Blackstone told Spina that it was too good to put out in a magazine. Harry's name shouldn't be on the list. Roger told me that Harry was one of the few who figured it out. The original routine used quarters. |

Frankly at this point in time a magizine or part of a book would be a great place to publish this I think. looks like a working routine with a nifty idea, not a whole dvd for 25 dollars.... especially now that it has been youtibe exposed

After seeing above it is an old routine, I watched the video again. I know where I have seen something similar! My good friend Gary Jones has a version of this in his lecture notes, released years ago. The penny wasn't used, and I think if I remember rightly, he used it or a coins through table, but the concept is the same.

Honestly, the CP was a bit too perfect (Only Mano has such power) and that made me suspect something but a spec absolutely would not....They would only see magic. It's like thinking a spec has such eagle-eyes to see that of 3 halves one has a different date. Not gonna happen, as the mind just isn't thinking that way despite some over-worried concerns by magis that the same dates are necessary or they'll be exposed. Much ado about nothing. Just do the effect properly and it will work just the same...But I digress. There's not a lot new here really but the effect is well done and would work perfectly in the real world, just as most coins across work perfectly in the real world. The little flash ain't good but most folks here or anywhere else didn't catch it the first time around I bet, the hand just turned over a bit too much that's all. A spec wouldn't have caught it much if at all behind the movements. Thanks Chris for posting this. I have always thought that every young man in growing up should be pretty honest, carry a neat pocket knife and know a little magic in being able to make a pretty girl smile with a good coins across. I don't know, does that make me a bad person...Whadaya think?
