I just purchased a used Abbott's Vanishing Dove Cage on Ebay and would like some feed-back on this Illusion,ie:pro's-con's,tips and suggestions, can it be used with other things like spring animals (Rocky Raccoon)and the like?It won't arrive here for a few weeks and would like to know what to expect,...is it fast?Does it make much noise? Thanks,Mike

Mike,
If you don't mind my asking, how much did you end up buying it for? I've been looking for one for quite some time.

I've had an Abbott's dove cage for quite a while now. It is pretty fast vanish, as long as you remember to push up the side bars first, yes that is from experience.
I recovered mine with blue felt, helps deaden the vanish and it doesn't look like everyone elses. I've added fringe halfway up the cage bottom to help hide the thickness. I think it works best with live birds but just an idea perhaps you could suspend fake butterflies on threads and vanish that.
