We need some monsters in Australia. The best we can come up with is Tiddalik the Frog. Hardly scary.

There are a couple of interesting places in Paris, France. There is a sewer museum (which is a bit hard to find) and a walking tour through the catacombs under Paris. As the city of Paris was expanding, they needed some of the space used for cemeteries. So they dug up the bones and arranged them neatly in tunnels under the city that had been formed by removing stone blocks for building. There are many thousands of bones in the catacombs.
If you are in Philadelphia, the Mutter Museum at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia should not be missed. In London (and some other British cities) there are the Dungeons which are sort-of wax museum presentations of earlier and more gruesome times. Check out http://www.thedungeons.com/
