Has anyone ever added thin glow sticks inside balloon hats? I'm working on BttB Vol 1 right now, and this random thought came to me. It would have to be a long section of course, and a mid-day twisting wouldn't make much sense, but on the boardwalk at the beach in the nighttime, could be interesting. I haven't tried it yet, but thought I'd see if anyone had done this and had a technique to share.

Hiya Rev!
Check these out! They have some smaller ones and you can really make some cool looking balloons *light up* with these! http://glowproducts.com/glowsticks/smallglowsticks/

Little mini glow sticks are great! I use them a lot when doing evening events. I also love using small LED lights for special sculptures. I make a ride inside car that goes around the kids waist, and when I add the glowing red tail lights people lose their minds!

I use the glow sticks as well as the small LED lights (thanks for turning me on to them, Don.) My favorite is the color changing LED. I'm not at home right now, so I don't have the company name at hand. One of my favorite things to do is make a bear holding an 11 inch pink heart with the color changing LED. The LED illuminates the whole heart and will stay lit for a couple days. The only problem is that once you make one, everyone wants one, and the LED's are expensive. I choose when I make it carefully for this reason.

How do you put them in the balloon? Use magic pipe?

No magic pipe....I gave that up years ago (maybe we aren't talking about the same thing.) I just stretch the nozzle of the balloon open with my fingers and shove the LED/glowstick into the body of the balloon. You would be surprised how wide you can stretch the nozzle of a 5,6 or 11 inch balloon.
