Buried Treasure? It is astonishing to us that our strictly limited editions of several Hermetic Press publications have not been snapped up by collectors with a taste for extra quality and the truly rare. Some of this treasure is buried in plain sight on our Web site. For those who wish something genuinely special for their libraries, take a look at the following three items. Please note that, unlike limited editions of 300-500 copies, these editions are limited to 52 copies or fewer.
Ibidem, Volume 3/Aziz & Beyond We produced only 50 deluxe copies of this wonderful collection of card and close-up magic. These are specially bound in black bonded leather and come in handmade slipcases in matching leather. Each book has a numbered limitation page bound in, which is designed, signed and hand decorated by artist Pat Lyons. Each cased book also includes a signed letter of authentication, one original issue of Ibidem magazine and two original silk-screened Ibidem covers. Also included are editor Howard Lyons's Ibidem business card and bookplate. These are all mint originals, not reproductions. We have only 18 copies of these left. And if you order one by September 15, 2009, we will include at no extra cost a limited-issue full-color set of all 36 of Pat Lyons's exceptional Ibidem covers, ready for framing. Price-$120. To order, click on the book image, which will take you to our Web site. Go to Ibidem - Volume 3 in the drop-down list of books, and scroll to the bottom of the Ibidem Volume 3 page to find the button for adding a deluxe copy to your shopping cart. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KORT We produced 52 deluxe copies of this major collection of close-up magic by past master Milt Kort (1913-2003). We have 9 copies left. These are handbound in handmade paper and gold-stamped, in matching slipcase. Each is numbered and signed by Milt Kort and author Stephen Minch. $85. Click on the book image, which will take you to our Web site. Choose KORT from the drop-down menu of books and scroll to the bottom of the KORT page to find the button that puts a copy of the deluxe edition into your shopping cart. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Life Among Secrets This one was buried so deep, we didn't know we had it until now. Stephen Minch's biography of magic and mind-reading legend Eddie Fields (1915-2001) was published in 1992 and has been out of print for more than fourteen years. When the first edition was printed, we also did 50 numbered deluxe copies, each signed by Eddie Fields and Stephen Minch. These copies are distinctively bound in tan bonded leather. They are housed in a cloth-covered slipcase and include a copy of EDDIE FIELDS' SECRET DIARY, a beautiful booklet printed on linen paper, which explains the methods of some of the tricks described in the biography. We have only 5 copies of these sets. $150 (+ $7 shipping in the USA; $29 shipping elsewhere). And for the collector who desires something particularly rare, we have 2 copies of the specially bound presentation issue of this book that were never presented. Only 26 of these presentation copies were produced. They are bound in black bonded-leather and lettered A through Z. Each is signed by Fields and Minch, and comes in a cloth-covered slipcase with a copy of EDDIE FIELDS' SECRET DIARY. $225 (+ $7 shipping in the USA; $29 shipping elsewhere). These deluxe Fields books are not offered on our Web site. To order a copy, please e-mail us at order@hermeticpress.com to reserve your copy, and we will reply with instructions on how to submit payment by either PayPal or credit card. Dude, newsletter offer only. I'm sure Minch will be happy to sell out, but magicians sure are crappy at keeping secrets.

Magic is a vanishing Art.
This must not be Kansas anymore, Toto. Eschew obfuscation. |

This criticism makes no sense. Peo's post is from a free, open-subscription newsletter that exists for the purpose of advertising for Hermetic Press. It may be obscure, but it is in no way secret!
Hermetic Press' front page even has a big blue link saying "Make sure you join our mailing list." http://hermeticpress.com/ |

It looks like Hermetic really want to get rid of the books, so why chastise the guy for giving them a little help?

Stephen consistently releases some of the best stuff in magic publishing. The Fields books is one of my favorite magic reads ever. Though not an instruction book, the insight into mentalism, particularly the two person code act, is invaluable.

Mr. Olsson has long been one of the forums biggest Hermetic Press advocates, supporting every aspect of their work. I always appreciate the time he takes to keep us posted about whats going on with their books.
