Do you know something about this mentalist from Argentina?
I read that he made a big problem in the last FISM

Are you sure? Ive been reading that mental category didn't received the 1st prize because of some problem with Ordeix. I think he didn't wanted to reveal his performance to the judges, and that's why he didn't received any prize or mention.
Hope to hear something about this and I'm praying for watching the performance of Ordeix in FISM 2009 on youtube or something. If anyone knows something, please comment!! Que viva la magia!! |

I think the important points are that Juan Ordeix is a first-rate, top-class mentalist. He works hard to develop his routines and deliver the most amazing, entertaining and enjoyable 'magic of the mind' that he possibly can. He is very committed to originality, and his shows and routines always have as distinctive touch. He brings the joy and the intrigue of mentalism to thousands of people, through his shows at home and around the world.
When he performed here in London, at last year's Macmillan International Convention Gala show, he did very well and the audience loved him. (Just for those who don't know the evening Gala shows at this convention are open to the public, not just to magicians attending the rest of the convention.) I wasn't at FISM, but I hear he was very impressive and he was rewarded with a standing ovation. If some people want to have some sort of problem with the methods he may or may not use, let them. Meanwhile, Juan will carry on doing what he does best: delivering first-class entertainment, and being a terrific international ambassador for the art of mentalism.

The Fism president Eric Eswin had an interview at the magic newswire and he talked about the problems surrounding Juan's act.

I met him a couple of years ago when he came to Quito for a private presentation, and he gave some magicians a short class on mentalism.
He is extremely good! Actually I still do a couple of effects I learnt from him. I have done them in private parties, theatres and on television using his advices. I read his own description of what happened at FISM at the spanish magic blog: http://www.blogdemagia.com If some of you read in spanish I recommend you take a look down there. On the other hand, a friend of mine just told me he became a member of the magic Café, but I haven't looked yet... Best regards from Ecuador, Giovanni. |
